Raw, unapologetic, and deeply personal, this hanging sculpture speaks to the moments when you’ve had enough. A hand bursts from a Persian rug-covered frame, carved from raw wood, embodying the defiance of saying, “Enough.”
With its bold contrasts and raw textures, Persian Fuck You is both a visceral statement and a celebration of resilience. It invites viewers to reflect on the strength it takes to walk away from what no longer serves us—because sometimes, art is the only way to say, “F-it.”
Innocence reflects the weight of societal judgments placed on women’s bodies, sparked by a conversation with the artist’s daughter about restrictive dress codes and their lasting impact.
Rendered in a soft, pastel-like palette, the colors evoke the innocence of childhood while intentionally softening the harshness of the narrative.
Drawing from shared stories across generations, the artwork examines how clothing choices shape perceptions and treatment, inviting viewers to reflect on the stories we impose on women and their bodies.
This mandala, a symbol of wholeness and harmony, delves into the tension between systemic oppression and the yearning for freedom.
The interplay of serene blue and violet tones with the mandala’s circular form evokes peace and balance, offering a contemplative contrast to the weight of its subject.
Uncaged reflects the struggle between liberation and constraint, inspired by the social movement sparked by Mahsa Amini’s death. The braided motifs symbolize freedom, particularly through the unveiling of women’s hair, while the outer motifs of women in hijabs echo the weight of imposed limitations.
Through this work, the artist seeks to spark dialogue about freedom, resilience, and the enduring human spirit.
Unveiled Shorelines revisits the artist’s childhood memory of a beach in post-revolution Iran, where government-imposed dress codes starkly contrasted the freedoms of men and women.
Against the serene backdrop of turquoise waters, men lounge freely in swimwear, while a veiled woman stands apart in vibrant blue, her striking presence offering a poignant commentary on the absurdity of the scene.
Through understated humor in the figures and a pastel palette that softens the narrative, the painting balances the weight of censorship and inequality with a disarming beauty.
This interplay of levity and critique encourages viewers to consider the complexities of imposed restrictions and the stories hidden within everyday moments.
