The Persian F-You (2025)

Wood, Graphite Pencil, Persian Rug

44”x26”

Raw wood, Persian rug, and graphite pencil come together in this unapologetic and visceral sculpture, embodying a bold act of defiance.

At its core, the piece features a hand sketched directly onto raw wood, emerging from a handcrafted frame wrapped in the intricate patterns of a Persian rug. The combination of these materials creates a stark contrast—juxtaposing the organic and the ornate, the raw and the refined.

The artist constructed the frame herself, using traditional craftsmanship to create a structure that both contains and releases. The hand breaking free from the frame symbolizes the strength it takes to reclaim power and let go of what no longer serves. The choice of raw wood emphasizes the unfiltered emotion behind the work, while the Persian rug adds a cultural richness that grounds the piece in heritage and personal history.

Persian Fuck You is a celebration of resilience and a refusal to be confined by the expectations or demands of others. Bold yet deeply intentional, the piece invites viewers to reflect on the moments when life demands we say, “Enough.”

It’s a testament to the power of reclaiming one’s voice and finding beauty even in acts of rebellion.
