Innocence (oil on canvas, 51”x32”, 2025)

The idea of this painting started 9 months ago, after my daughter came home upset that she had to wear clothes that were not “DISTRACTING to the BOYS”, which meant their skirts & shorts could not be above their fingertips.
Her anger and for the 1st time realizing, to a much lesser degree than us adults, how her body is actually viewed and represents according to society.
.
From that incident was born this painting and I wanted to share stories from women of all ages on how their chose of clothing affected the treatments they received from not only family and friends, but also from society.
